Mossley Light Festival Crew Training

Work at one of the North West’s most creative wintertime celebrations.

Learn about the behind the scenes aspects of running a medium to large scale site specific public event and at the same time contribute to your local community by springing into action on the Sat 25th of November to help produce a spectacular winter Carnival.

Global Grooves is seeking volunteer events crew for various roles that will facilitate the magic of Carnival on your doorstep.Roles include: Parade crew, volunteer producers, site managers, artist liaison, riggers and marshalls.

What’s involved?

We invite you to take part in a one day training event on the Sat 11th November 10:00 – 17:00 to hear from some of the industry’s most experienced arts and events managers whilst learning about the Mossley Light Festival and how you can be involved in this year’s parade.

Following the training day, all crew will need to attend a final crew briefing on the Thurs 23rd November 18:30 – 21:00 where roles will be allocated and a full site visit arranged.All crew will then be needed at specific times between 12:00 and 20:00 on Sat 25th November for the final event.

Please note this first event on the 11th is cancelled all other dates and events are still going ahead. 

What: Full Crew Briefing and Site Visit
When: Thursday 23rd November 18:30 – 21:30
Where: The Vale, Unit 2 Vale Mill, Micklehurst Road, Mossley, OL5 9JL plus site visit and walk through.

What: Mossley Light Festival event day
When: Saturday 25th November between 13:00 and 20:00 (shifts)
Where: Mossley (various locations).

Light refreshments will be provided on training and event days.Travel will be reimbursed if applicable.
