How To Support Mossley Light Festival

“This festival of light is excellent for community spirit and promoting Mossley where I grew up – brilliant.” – Local resident

In 2016, Mossley Light Festival was heavily subsidised by funds raised by The Vale, Mossley Town Council, and local businesses and was produced by lead organisation Global Grooves. Much of the financial contribution came from Arts Council England and the National Lottery. Public funds for communities are decreasing each year and this means we will have to find other ways to sustain the festival in the future.

Community spirit is at the heart of everything and so we invite you to work with us to ensure the growth of a festival that the local community can  be proud of and make grow. We are calling on you to be a ‘community champion’ and make MLF Greater Manchester’s first fully sustainable public light festival. If you’d like to help by making a donation please use this link, MLF will receive 100% of all of your donations through lead partner and producer Global Grooves (based at The Vale). Thank you very much!

The talents and energy of our volunteers are vital to the festival. Each year the festival will offer free arts and events training so you can learn from a team of internationally acclaimed events managers and arts leaders. This is a brilliant chance to learn new skills, meet new friends and  support your local community in a meaningful and fun way. We need makers, organisers, puppeteers, stewards, movers and shakers.

Why not run a fundraising event to help support Mossley Light Festival? We encourage individuals and groups to get their thinking caps on, connect with their community and fundraise. Not only will you be supporting the festival but you’ll be making worthwhile connections and encouraging healthy activity in our town.
