How To Support Mossley Light Festival
“This festival of light is excellent for community spirit and promoting Mossley where I grew up – brilliant.” – Local resident
In 2016, Mossley Light Festival was heavily subsidised by funds raised by The Vale, Mossley Town Council, and local businesses. Much of the financial contribution came from Arts Council England and the National Lottery. Public funds for communities are decreasing each year and this means we will have to find other ways to sustain the festival in the future.
Community spirit is at the heart of everything, and we are delighted to invite you to work with us to ensure the growth of a festival that the local community can take ownership of. We are calling on everyone from our town to help us realise our ambition to become Greater Manchester’s first fully sustainable public light festival by becoming community champions and contributing in the following ways:
VOLUNTEERThe festival would not exist without the energy and talents of our volunteer team. Each year the festival will offer free arts and events training so you can learn from a team of internationally acclaimed events managers and arts leaders. This is an excellent opportunity to meet new friends, learn new skills and support your local community in a meaningful and fun way.
Would you like to run a fundraising event to help support Mossley Light Festival? We would like to encourage individuals and groups to get their thinking caps on, connect with their community and develop some fundraising events that not only support the festival but also encourage healthy and worthwhile community connections and events in our town. Perhaps a ‘bring and buy’ sale, sponsored healthy run, live music evening, coffee morning, or something else.
DONATE / SPONSOR
If you wish to contribute to Mossley light Festival all donations — no matter how small — are welcome. We also offer exciting sponsorship packages that will help you promote your business, engage your workforce and support your community.
A £1 donation will buy an LED torch for a child’s lantern right up to a £5000 paying for our entire community stage.
